A comparison of what fast food looks like in ads with real life. I will still eat it with no regrets.

Taco Bell has always looked KINDA close to the ad for me.

Don't give a fuck. If it's a whopper, I'll eat it.

Wow. I don't think I would get that much "meat" if I ordered 4 taco bell tacos and put them together.

Until they moved to the box design they are using now, all Burger King's sandwiches looked like an obese employee sat on them before giving them to you...

That is because the food during the commercials is either fake or specially prepared. It is just a depiction of what it could look like not what you actually are going to get. It is a real grey area to me but I usually am not too disappointed. I think Wendy's does the best job in terms of giving you something similar to what they advertise. Falling Down has a nice scene relevant to just this too.

Actual burger are loaded with preservatives, additives, artifactual food colourings, and salt. I still won't eat them. Ugh.

Big note: The food in adverts are actually real food items. However, there's a food artist (yes, that's an actual thing) on set that hand picks the ingredients and carefully builds the food items for the photo/video shoot.
The burgers at your local fast food joint aren't carefully built, but rather slapped together and thrown into a box.
The buns actually start out like they look like in the adverts, but after getting thrown about and then shoved into a box (with heat and moisture to absorb), they shrink and look beat up.
So, it's not as much as the adverts are misleading as it is that your local McD's doesn't give a damn about how the product looks. That, and it takes a while to get a burger (or even the fries) to really look like that.
However, the same cannot be said about McDonald's restaurants in Japan. Apparently over there they try their best to make the burgers look like they do in adverts, and they're pretty good at it.
But over here in America? There's so much emphasis on speed that important things (cooked correctly, all the right toppings, special orders, etc.) are missed, including fit and finish.
Source: My brother spent the better half of a decade in the industry and I spent nearly 3 years following his footsteps (bad idea).

That's true about Wendy's, specially with its Bacon Mushroom Melt Burger. But I've never seen this movie before. Looks like I've got the perfect movie for this weekend.

Once in a while (or once in a two-month span) you can commit the mistake of eating one. But if its fast food, it would have to be the best of the best.

Even if it looks flat, I'll eat the crap out of it, specially smothered with mayoketchup.

Unfortunately, that's the second fast food I went to when I arrived here. It was horrible. The first one? Sonic. Another disappointment.

A&W Canada burgers are usually close to what the ads depict.

Food artist? Now that I didn't know. But I can imagine how entertaining and visually satisfying it is to eat at a Japanese McD's. I remember the McD's in Spain where the burgers tasted amazing and they had shrimp as a side! They were surprisingly good for being fast food.

Never tried A&W, just their root beer. Maybe I'll try it sometime.

Lucky you. I had my share of bad fast food, but then again, the worst experiences were in Puerto Rico, not in the U.S.

It is one of my favorites, not really well known but it has a great premise. The film is about what happens to a man when his life is falling down around him. The real focus of the film is showing how what is fair and what constitutes justice in the eyes of one can appear demented and distorted in the eyes of another. In my opinion it is really well done but it has faded into obscurity.
